If you love paranormal stories, then this should be right up your alley! Clare is an accountant and is happy with her orderly day-to-day lifestyle. When her great Aunt Sandra dies and leaves Clare her entire estate, Clare is unhappy to learn that along with that comes an unwelcome family "Gift", that of being a ghost seer or ghost layer. If she doesn't accept the Gift and her role, then Clare will die or go mad. As Clare is struggling to deal with this, she meets Zach Slade, a former lawman who was injured in the line of duty, and who now struggles with his permanent disability as a result of that. When Clare is accosted by the ghost of an Old West outlaw who needs to atone for his wrongs, she ends up partnering with Zach. The action is nonstop, and the characters are likeable. Throw in Enzo, a friendly and adorable Labrador ghost dog sidekick and things get even better. The juxtaposition of Old West versus modern day Colorado makes the story interesting. There's also a developing relationship between the two main characters, as well as tension due to Zach's unwillingness to buy into Clare's blossoming psychic abilities. This is a really good and enjoyable read!
